I'll try not to beat you up too bad.
1st of all, ATF is probally checking out your email so when you do make all
this stuff and don't have legal permit's for making, storage, and so on, and
so on, How much do you like being a prison bitch..
2nd, I have known 3 people that the law enforement had to count body parts
for making guess what? M-80's static will set this stuff off besides just
about anything.
3rd, Try grains then grams, and move up. Anything of over 50 grams will be
how much do you like your neighbors(you'll be dead).
4th, Find a local firework club in your region. Asking in person is a hell
of a lot smarter than posting and having anyone responce is putting your
life in the internet.
Anyone can make explosive's(try doing something that your pears can be proud
of after it goes off)

ok, i'm brand new to making flash powder, i have never done it before and
want
to know if anyone can help me out with a question. how much should i mix
(by
weight) just for making a only a couple m80s. i know the ratio of
potassium
perchlorate to aluminum powder is 70/30, i just need to know how many
ounces of
each should i mix thats a SAFE amount for a first timer.
FIRST, I CANNOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE REGARDING YOUR ACTIONS.
Federally, it's not illegal so long as you DO NOT store it and you use it right away in a safe environment, so the BATFE don't give a fudge. You do however need to check state laws because you can still catch a felony in a lot of places for manufacturing explosives. Yes, flash powder is considered a LOW explosive. Anything with a fuel (AL, MG, etc etc etc) and an oxidizer (KCLO4 KLO3 etc etc etc) is considered to be an explosive material LAWFULLY, doesn't matter what hairs science will split, the laws are pretty clear and concise. Ignorance of them is not an excuse. Also, 50mg so .05 of a gram is the legal limit for ground fireworks, put that bad boy on a "Rocket stick", and it goes up to 130mg. (less likely to light and throw, therefore less dangerous in the eyes of the batfe, I assume) If I were you, (again I'm not responsible for what you do) I wouldn't even start until I'm FIRMLY aware of how powerful and unstable flash powder can be.

Yes, flash powder is considered a
LOW explosive
First of all, conventional 7:3 flash powder is NOT 'unstable'. I don't
know who gave you that information.

Second, it IS legal to store, if you have a proper magazine for it.
(licensed, or not).

Third, bulk flash powder (along with bulk salutes) are LEGALLY considered
HIGH explosive, not low, regardless of what the science says about them.
They must be stored in the appropriate sort of magazine, and a type 4
will not do.
